SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― Most real estate lost value during the recession, but the land in cemeteries increased in value. Burial plots are for sale in big numbers on EBay, Craigslist, and other internet websites.
Ty Billings has a bunch for sale in Concord. Buy one or all four for about half the normal price.
“We are asking $2,500 per plot. If someone were to buy all four, I’d lower the price a bit,” Billings said while showing off the lush grass in Memory Gardens.
He’s using Craigslist to sell the plots for a family friend. Some of the relatives are buried nearby. The younger generation isn’t interested.
